Medical Billing for Solo Practitioners
You run the practice, see the patients and sign the charts. Let a dedicated billing team handle claims, denials and insurance follow-up so you get paid without staying late.
When You Are the Whole Practice, Billing Falls Behind
In a solo practice there is no billing department. Claims get submitted when someone has time, denials sit in a pile, and insurance follow-up happens on Friday afternoons — if at all. Every claim that is not worked is money that has already been earned but never collected.
AccMed RCM gives solo practitioners a full billing team for the price of a percentage of collections. We submit clean claims, post every payment, chase every denial and follow up on unpaid A/R, while you focus on patients.
Common problems we fix for solo doctors
- Claims denied for missing or wrong modifiers, prior authorization or eligibility
- Payments posted late or not reconciled against the EOB, hiding underpayments
- A/R older than 90 days that nobody has time to follow up
- Credentialing lapses that stop payments from a payer without warning
- No clear view of what the practice actually collects each month

How much does medical billing cost for a solo practitioner?
Most billing companies charge a percentage of what they collect for you, commonly somewhere around 3% to 10% depending on specialty, claim volume and services included. Some offer a flat monthly fee. We quote after a free audit so the price matches your real claim volume. See our pricing page for how it works.
Is outsourcing cheaper than hiring a part-time biller?
Often, yes. A part-time biller still costs wages, payroll taxes, training, software seats and cover for sick days and vacations. With outsourcing you pay only when claims are collected, and billing does not stop when one person is away.
Will I lose control of my billing?
No. You keep full access to your EHR and practice management system. We send a monthly report and you can ask about any claim at any time.
How long does it take to switch my billing to AccMed RCM?
For most solo practices the handover takes about two to four weeks: we review your current A/R, get access to your software and clearinghouse, and set up payer workflows before taking over new claims.
Do you also work old unpaid claims?
Yes. We can work your existing aged A/R alongside new claims. Claims still inside the payer timely filing limit can often be corrected and resubmitted.
