Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) Billing Services
RPM can be a steady monthly revenue stream — if every reading day and every minute is tracked and billed correctly. We turn your RPM platform data into clean, compliant monthly claims.
Monthly Programs Need Monthly Billing Discipline
Remote patient monitoring is billed in recurring monthly cycles, and each code has its own requirements: patient consent, an eligible device, a minimum number of reading days, and documented minutes of interactive communication. Miss one month and the revenue is gone; bill without the requirements and the practice takes on audit risk.
AccMed RCM reviews your RPM platform reports every month, confirms each requirement is met and submits RPM claims alongside your regular billing.

RPM Billing: Common Questions
Which CPT codes are used for remote patient monitoring?
The core Medicare RPM codes are 99453 (initial setup and patient education), 99454 (device supply with daily recordings, billed per 30 days), 99457 (first 20 minutes of monitoring and interactive management in a calendar month) and 99458 (each additional 20 minutes). CMS has also added options for shorter monitoring periods, so we confirm which codes apply to each patient and payer.
How many days of readings are needed to bill 99454?
99454 has traditionally required at least 16 days of device readings in a 30-day period. Newer CMS options cover shorter periods for some patients. Payers that do not follow Medicare may set their own rules, so we track readings and apply each payer’s requirement.
Can RPM and chronic care management be billed in the same month?
Yes, Medicare allows RPM and CCM in the same month for the same patient as long as the time counted for each service is not double counted. We keep the time logs separate.
Who can provide the RPM management time?
Physicians and other qualified health professionals, and clinical staff working under their general supervision, can perform the monitoring and interactive communication counted toward 99457 and 99458.
Do you work with RPM vendors and device companies?
Yes. We work with the reports your RPM platform produces and turn reading days and logged minutes into accurate monthly claims.
