Urgent Care Billing Services
High volume, walk-in patients, same-day procedures and payer-specific contracts. We keep urgent care claims clean and moving every day so your center’s cash flow keeps pace with its patient flow.
Fast-Paced Clinics Need Fast, Accurate Billing
Urgent care centers see many patients a day, many of them new, with insurance cards that may be out of date. Visits often combine an E/M with an X-ray, lab test, injection or laceration repair, and each payer may contract the visit differently. Small errors repeated across hundreds of visits a month add up quickly.
AccMed RCM runs urgent care billing on a daily cycle: eligibility at registration, same-day charge review, daily claim submission and fast denial follow-up.

Urgent Care Billing: Common Questions
Which place of service code does urgent care use?
POS 20 is the urgent care facility code. Some payers contract urgent care centers differently — for example as a physician office or with a global per-visit rate — so the right POS and codes depend on your contracts. We set them per payer.
What are S9083 and S9088?
They are HCPCS codes some commercial payers use for urgent care: S9083 for a global urgent care visit fee and S9088 for services provided in an urgent care center. Many payers do not accept them, so we only use them where your contract allows.
Why are urgent care claims with procedures denied so often?
Common reasons are a missing modifier 25 on the E/M when a procedure is done the same day, missing QW modifiers on CLIA-waived lab tests, and NCCI edits between procedures. We check all three before submission.
How do you handle high visit volume and walk-ins?
Real-time eligibility checks at registration, same-day charge review and daily claim batches keep a high-volume clinic from building a backlog.
Do you collect self-pay and patient balances?
Yes. We send patient statements, set up payment plans where you allow them, and track balances so the front desk can collect at the next visit.
